Xela Hotel
Ubicado en la carretera Tulum–Boca Paila, km 8.7, frente a una de las playas más privadas de Tulum, Hotel XELA Tulum se presenta como un refugio íntimo de lujo relajado. Con solo doce habitaciones, el proyecto mantiene una escala boutique que conserva la sensación de una villa costera privada.
El diseño parte de una renovación consciente de una antigua residencia frente al mar, abordada con la intención de preservar la intimidad y esencia del lugar, reinterpretándola como un hotel de doce suites que invita al descanso y la contemplación.
La estética arquitectónica, sobria y orgánica, se define por el uso de materiales naturales, como maderas locales, fibras tejidas, tonos arena y matices cálidos que evocan la tierra y el sol del Caribe. Los acabados, inspirados en la sencillez de una casa de playa, expresan una sofisticación discreta y atemporal.
El proyecto se distingue por la fluidez entre interior y exterior, integrando la jungla, el mar y la luz característica de Tulum como parte esencial de la experiencia espacial. Así, la arquitectura se convierte en un marco para el paisaje, donde la naturaleza y el diseño coexisten en equilibrio.

Located along the Tulum–Boca Paila road, km 8.7, facing one of Tulum’s most private beaches, Hotel XELA Tulum stands as an intimate retreat of relaxed luxury. With only twelve rooms, the project embraces a boutique scale that preserves the atmosphere of a private coastal villa.
The design stems from a thoughtful renovation of a former beachfront residence, approached with the intention of preserving the site’s intimacy and spirit, and reinterpreting it as a twelve-suite hotel designed for rest and contemplation.
The architectural aesthetic is both understated and organic, defined by the use of natural materials such as local woods, woven fibers, sandy hues, and warm tones that evoke the earth and sunlight of the Caribbean. The finishes, inspired by the simplicity of a beach house, reflect a sense of subtle and timeless sophistication.
The project is distinguished by the seamless transition between interior and exterior, allowing the jungle, the sea, and Tulum’s distinctive light to become integral elements of the living space. In this way, the architecture frames the landscape, creating a dialogue where nature and design coexist in perfect balance.
